Vacay: Part 1

In lieu and celebration of my 26th birthday and 7 months of marriage, Denny and I planned a vacation to Portland and Seattle for 5 days. In planning our trip, most people asked us, "why Portland?" to which we would answer "why not?" What more do you need than the breathtaking landscape of the Pacific Northwest?! It was hard to narrow down the 200 pictures we took, but here is the first batch from our first two days.

This is the amazing home we got to stay in for our first 3 nights (not the whole thing..just bottom right corner) It was beautiful!
Denny would sit at this table each morning with his coffee. Even though we were in the city, it was so serene.
View from our front door.
The entire condo was surrounded by windows and so bright (even on those cloudy Portland afternoons). Here is the view from the Living Room.
Dining Room...except we never ate a meal at the table. We were too busy eating out:)
But we did use the coffee maker every morning:)

Portland has a wonderful public transit system. So clean, affordable, and friendly. Even the bus drivers were friendly!
The famous Powell's Books. We spent an hour perusing the infinite shelves. This store goes on and on and on. If it's not at Powell's, it's nowhere to be found.
Denny's selection...
And mine: "Julie & Julia"--my newest OBSESSION. (Go see this movie immediately if you haven't).

While we were strolling around downtown, these 2 women asked if we could direct them to the "Street of Dreams." Once we found out what it actually was, we ran to get tickets and spent the remainder of the afternoon checking out beautiful penthouses in Portland.
The bathrooms were TO DIE FOR. This was me "showering" in the shower I'll never have:)
A view of the city from one of the condos.
Portland's Saturday Market! Another "must" if you ever visit Portland. Dozens of local vendors set up tents where they sell handmade goods.

More to come tomorrow! Stay tuned...
